— Follow the step-by-step guide:

1. Size and Toe Space Test

A. Before trying on, put on your ski socks (thick and moisture-wicking – avoid cotton).

B. After putting on the snowboard boots, stand straight and feel if your toes should lightly touch the toe of the boot (not squeezed tightly or dangling freely).

C. Bend your knees into the skiing position, showing the way you turn while skiing (your toes should be retracted 1/2 to 1 inch and there should be no painful pressure).

2. Heel Space Check

Tie the laces/straps tight (like when skiing), and your feet should have less than 1/4 inch of movement space. If the heel slides up and down, the boots are too big (or the lacing is not adjusted properly).

3. Ankle and Lower Leg Support Test

Lean forward and side to side: The boot should hug your ankle and calf without pinching. Pay attention to whether the pressure is uniform and there are no hot spots (tight spots that dig into your skin) or loose gaps (which cause instability).

4. Walking and Stretching Test

A. Walk around in the store for 5 to 10 minutes. First, your feet should not feel numb or squeezed, and the boots should not rub against your heel or toes.

B. Lean forward and bend the boots (you can simulate some skiing movements), it should be able to slightly bend (good for beginners) but should not collapse, a hardness level of 4/10 to 6/10 is ideal for new skiers.

5. Lacing System Test

If equipped with BOA® key rings: Rotate clockwise to tighten, counterclockwise to loosen. Check if the tension when tightening and loosening the laces is evenly distributed (make sure no part feels too tight).

If equipped with traditional laces/strap rings: Start tightening from the toes, make sure it can stabilize the ankle part, and ensure it can be quickly adjusted when needed.

6. Waterproof and Insulation Performance Confirmation

Confirm with the store staff: The thickness of the ski boots and their waterproofing performance, ask if the boots have a warming function, and ensure the insole feels soft and fits well against your skin (avoid using thin and easily torn fabrics to prevent instability when using on cold and wet slopes).

The above points need to be confirmed clearly by you in the store. It is best to try on the shoes for more than 5 minutes and walk around to ensure that they fit your foot shape properly. We hope that you can choose the snow shoes that suit your taste, and keep the most stylish skiing posture on the snowfield!
